Kalispell Man Drops Senate Bid

An air traffic controller for Glacier Park International Airport is dropping his bid for the US Senate after only a few months of campaigning.

David Leaser has never run for political office before, but was hoping to be a conservative voice to replace Max Baucus.

In a release, Leaser writes, "The Republican National Committee, the Tea Party Patriots, and the Montana GOP have already voiced their support for congressman Steve Daines."

He says he doesn't want to divide his party.

He hasn't given up completely, however. In 2018, he hopes to take Jon Tester's seat.
