Off-Duty Deputy Detains Indecent Exposure Suspect At Shadle Library

SPOKANE, Wash. - PRESS RELEASE FROM SPD: On 02-12-14 around 4:40 pm Spokane Police received a call of an off-duty Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputy engaging in a confrontation with an indecent exposure suspect at the Shadle Park Library, 2111 W. Wellesley. Upon arrival, Deputy Criswell had the suspect detained. Spokane Police learned the off-duty deputy was at the library with his 10 year-old daughter when he observed a male watching her and touching himself inappropriately.

The suspect was in an open area that was visible to patrons. The deputy asked the male to step outside. The male attempted to flee from the deputy but was detained. Spokane Police identified the male as 50 year-old Steven Snedden. Snedden has a prior conviction for Indecent Exposure. Snedden was booked into jail for a new felony charge of Indecent Exposure (with prior conviction).
