Bobcat Basketball Duo from Idaho Form Lifelong Friendship

Posted: Updated:

Post Falls Idaho Native Marcus Colbert says Boise Idaho product Paul Egwuonwu has big time strength and athleticism. Egwuonwu says Colbert is not scared of anybody. The duo is proud to be from Idaho.

"We Idaho boys. 208 represent 208 and that's what we try to do," says Marcus Colbert.

Even though Colbert is much smaller and two years younger, he says he's Paul's big brother.

"I just take care of him if he needs anything I got him he always knows I got him and take care of him. Flave was bulling him I stepped him told him to stop so he just looks to me to help him out sometimes," says Colbert.

6 foot 9 Paul Egwuonwu.... the little brother?

"Yeah I know he would say that. I'm going to have to talk to him about that. Me and Marcus we have a real good friendship we're like brother. I'm definitely big bro," said Egwuonwu.

Now hear Paul's take on the friendship.

"Marcus is definitely my little brother. I don't know if he wants to admit it or not but he wants to be just like me I swear," said Egwuonwu.

The two carry themselves like they're actually brothers.

"The way we joke. I mean it's constant jokes like 100 percent of the time. Unless we're in practice even if we're in practice little snick on the side and stuff," said Colbert.

Marcus says stuff like this to Paul.

"You are ugly. Just stuff like that I can jump higher than you," said Colbert.

Paul makes comments about Marcus' hair.

"We all know Marcus has dreads. We all know Marcus is losing his dreads. He's 19 years old and he's going bald," said Egwuonwu.

"He just tells me I'm going bald soon enough and just mean hating stuff and I can't really say nothing cause it's true it's about two years left on me," said Colbert.

The two say they'll be friends forever....and always remembering their roots.

"There's not too many Idaho D 1 players out there so we definitely take pride in that," said Egwuonwu.
