The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announces enrollment in the health insurance marketplace increased 53 percent in January.

The Obama administration said another 1.1 million Americans signed up for health insurance through online exchanges in January. That brings the total number of enrollees to nearly 3.3 million.

Young adult enrollment is leading the jump. People between the ages of 18 and 34 who enrolled in the federal program grew by 65 percent in January, while all other age groups combined grew by 55 percent.

Secretary Kathleen Sebelius reminds you open enrollment ends March 31st.
