Missoula Organizations Recruit UM Student Volunteers

MISSOULA -

Nearly 30 different organizations in Missoula had the chance to recruit University of Montana volunteers at a fair on Tuesday.

The UM Spring Volunteer Fair is a biannual event hosted by the Office for Civic Engagement.

The fair helps nonprofit agencies promote their activities and recruit new members in order to meet community needs.

Girl Scouts coordinators said they need volunteers to help staff their 15 after-school programs in Missoula.

Krysta Peterson, of the Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming, said, "We're really looking for college positive volunteers that can really serve as positive role models for the girls of our programs and our seasonal troops."

The volunteer fair continues Wednesday in the University Center atrium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
