The manhunt for an escaped rapist moves to Missoula, as police believe Kevin Briggs may be in the Valley.
28-year-old Briggs is a convicted rapist who escaped from jail in Bozeman on Saturday morning.
He was being held as a suspect in an attempted rape near the MSU campus.
Bozeman police say Briggs was in handcuffs, a belly belt and shackles when he escaped from an unlocked room in the Law and Justice Center where he was left alone for 10 minutes.
Briggs is described as 5'5'', medium build, about 150 lbs., brown hair and blue eyes.
He has also been known to go by the names Amiee Macintire and James Zenon Meismer.
Missoula Police Detective Sergeant Travis Welsh says Briggs is known to have contacts in the Missoula area they are now investigating.
Police warn anyone who thinks they see Briggs to not approach him,all 9-1-1 and keep him in sight while giving operators information.
