Spokane Police Officer Placed On Administrative Leave Files For Retirement

Spokane Police Officer Barry O’Connell submitted his paperwork for retirement from the department. Spokane Police Officer Barry O’Connell submitted his paperwork for retirement from the department.
A Spokane Police Officer who was placed on administrative leave in November of 2013 filed for retirement on Monday. 

Monique Cotton with the Spokane Police Department stated in a press release sent out on Monday afternoon that Barry O'Connell submitted his paperwork for retirement. 

O'Connell was put on administrative leave on November 29, 2013 and was being investigated by Internal Affairs for Inadequate Response and False Reporting. According to the release sent out by Cotton, the charge of False Reporting was sustained with a recommendation for termination. 

Cotton also said as a result of his retirement, the internal affairs investigation against O'Connell will be closed and no further action will be taken.

    POST FALLS, Idaho -Idaho State Police were called to the area of Pleasant View Road off of I-90 on Thursday. The truck was blocking multiple lanes of traffic, and it is unknown if anyone was hurt during the crash. However, a witness to the crash told KHQ it appeared that everyone was OK.
