Plans to build a new indoor ice arena in Bozeman are well underway.
Matthew Kraska with the Gallatin Ice Foundation said they already raised one-million dollars, enough to complete the first phase. They have already raised about two-thirds of the money for the second phase.
During the first phase, a new parking lot, entrance and pavilion will be built. In the second phase, a sheet of ice, a mechanical room, boards and glass will be installed.
Kraska hopes to start construction on that part in the spring.
"We are really excited about this project. It has been a long time coming and a lot of things are now coming into place," said Kraska.
If enough money is raised, locker rooms, office space and a concessions area would complete phase three. The estimated total for the project is over four-million dollars.
