Flathead Veterans Group Showing Strong Start

Posted: Updated:
KALISPELL -

Seventy people are already members of the Northwest Montana Chapter of Vietnam Veterans, and more keep calling to join the group that just started in September.

Until now, the nearest chapter for Flathead veterans was in Hamilton.

Veterans have come out from as far as Eureka, Ronan, and Browning for the potluck meetings in Kalispell.

The group meets the second Wednesday of every month at Flathead Valley Community College.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

"We want to help the Vietnam vets, the ones that are back that came back physically, and emotionally they're still there," said John Burgess, the chapter's founder.

The group is looking for more members and donations. You can call Burgess for more information at 406.857.3609.
