Fundraiser Held For Well-Known Missoula Business Owner

The Montgomery Distillery is helping a Missoula entrepreneur, and frequent customer, pay for her medical expenses as she battles a chronic illness. Tuesday night, a dollar from every drink sale, and all of every dollar spent to purchase a "Curly Girl Punch" drink, will go to well-known Canvas Studios hair salon owner, Katt Ahlstrom.

Ahlstrom has ulcerative colitis, a chronic disease that affects the digestive system. The disease took a turn for the worse in December when she traveled overseas. Now her friends, family, and the people at Montgomery Distillery are rallying together to help her.

Ahlstrom spent several days in the ICU on the island Bonaire, and at one point, thought she wouldn't survive. She now has to pay medical expenses for spending time in a hospital in a third world country.

"Well it's great. She's supported us so much through the last year, and to be able to help support her is a wonderful thing. Katt is a great customer of ours and whenever we see someone in the community who needs help, we like to reach out as much as we can," said Tara Maus, the giving captain at Montgomery Distillery.

Friends have made an online campaign, in the hopes of raising $50,000 for Ahlstrom. To find out how you can help, head to the fundraising campaign online.
