BUTTE -

A Butte man, who was wanted by federal agents as part of an investigation of drug distribution, was jailed Monday.

Butte-Silver Bow County Sheriff Ed Lester said that county SWAT team members arrested Calvin Cleland at a Butte home at about 3:15 p.m.

Authorities began searching for Cleland last week and sent out a warning to residents that he was considered to be armed and dangerous.

The sheriff said that investigators from the Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department and agents from the Department of Homeland Security gathered information to track him down to the residence in the 600 block of Dakota Street.

Cleland is currently being held at the Butte-Silver Bow Detention Center on a federal warrant for conspiracy to distribute narcotics.
