School Board Set To Approve Willson Auditorium Design

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

The Bozeman School Board will vote Monday night on an architectural design for the Willson Auditorium.

The new design for the interior of the auditorium includes demolishing and putting up a new ceiling, new lights and refurbishing the old seats.

The back of the house would also get new heating, ventilation and a new dressing room.

The school board is also looking to replace the ramp from the first to the second floor with stairs and an elevator, improve the lobby area and renovate the upstairs library.

"The building is in need of renovations and this would be a great facelift for the community and the school district," said Steve Johnson, Bozeman Schools Deputy Superintendent.

The renovation is expected to cost over three-million dollars. So far, the school's foundation has raised over two-million dollars for the project.

Johnson hopes to begin construction in May.
