Butte-Silver Bow County will use a $30,000 grant to help improve infrastructure in the Greely neighborhood area.

On Thursday Governor Bullock announced a total of $400,000 of the Community Development Block Grant money will be given to counties across the state to improve public housing and infrastructure.

Butte-Silver Bow was one of many counties to receive $30,000.

County Community and Development Director Karen Byrnes says most of the money will go towards a plan and analysis of the Greely neighborhood infrastructure needs.

Once that plan is complete, she says the county will apply for further funding for construction.

"That's a very motivated neighborhood, a very motivated area," Byrnes said. "They have a good, active group of neighbors that have formed the Greely Neighborhood Coalition. They are very active and are looking for ways to better their neighborhood."

Deer Lodge also received grant money along with Kalispell and Yellowstone County.
