Cats Basketball on a Roll

Posted: Updated:
Montana State men's basketball went 5-6 in the non-conference. Didn't matter. The bobcats have started Big Sky play undefeated, because of a word that starts with the letter E.

"I thought we played with an edge both night. Figuring out ways to win. Consistency ability to sustain those are what separates teams when it comes to league play," said head coach Brad Huse.

MSU is loaded in the front court and the back court. That's called having options. The cats don't win the same way each night.

"We have depth and that depth came to play both nights I like that we're not a one dimensional team that relies on one certain thing I think we can adapt," said Huse.

"It's hard for teams to scout against us because when teams scout they scout on two main guys and when teams scout us they really can't zoom in on two main guys they have to worry about six, seven, eight guys," said senior forward Flavien Davis.

Players and coaches want to make one thing clear. They want this success to be long term. And it starts on the road Thursday night.

"This is the week to really make a statement you know as a team to show the conference that this is a new and improved Montana State team. We're not just gonna go 2-0 then 0-2 then 2-0 again," said Davis.

"We've got two really tough games ahead of us against teams that lost on the road last week so we know if we want to make any noise in this league this road trip is paramount," said Huse.
