30th Kalispell Mayor Swears In

Mark Johnson will officially take his seat Monday, January 6 as the 30th mayor of Kalispell.

He already has his own engraved nameplate.

Johnson has had no political experience since high school student government and ran unopposed in the election.

At the top of his agenda is redeveloping the downtown district and finishing the US 93 alternate route, ultimately, to make Kalispell more inviting.

"The core area redevelopment, I think, is critical to the viability of the downtown in Kalispell," said Johnson.

The city council meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. and outgoing mayor Tammi Fisher, who has served for the past four years, will give a presentation.

New city council members will also be instated.
