Police Respond to NYE Fireworks Complaints, DUIs

MISSOULA -

Police received at least ten fireworks noise complaints in Missoula during the New Year's Eve celebration, but they said only warnings were given out.

The Missoula City-County Police Report shows police responded to ten fireworks complaints between about 7 p.m. and 1 a.m.

However, officers said they only gave out verbal warnings.

The current city ordinance bans the use and sale of all fireworks within city limits, except for quieter ones, like sparklers, smoke bombs and snakes.

Missoula Police said they gave out just three DUIs on New Year's Eve this year.
