United Way Hoping For Big Money

KALISPELL -

Northwestern Montana's United Way is four days away from the end of its biggest fundraiser, hoping to reach its goal for the first time since 2008.

The aim is $600,000 and director Sherry Stevens says they are close, but they will not know for sure if they have reached the mark until mid-January.

In Flathead county alone, the United Way touches more than 55,000 lives and helps support more than twenty non-profits.

The campaign ends on New Years eve.

"The needs this year are continuing to grow. We are seeing more people needing food from food banks, more people who are needing shelter," said Stevens.

Although 90% of the money they raise comes from workplace giving, you can mail in your own contribution to PO Box 7217, Kalispell, MT 59904. You can also call 406.752.7266.
