Bozeman Offers Christmas Tree Recycling

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

Now that Christmas is over, the City of Bozeman has tree recycling stations across town.

Officials are asking you to take your real tree to the BMX Park on Tamarack, Christie Field on Mason Street, the lower parking lot at the Softball Complex on Haggerty Lane or the Gallatin Regional Park on Oak.

But before you do, they ask you to make sure there are no ornaments or lights on the tree.

Starting next week crews will be going to each location to chip the trees.

Then your old Christmas tree could be used to help projects around the city.

"The material is used for fill in, like out at the landfill at Logan, it is mixed with a product from the waste water treatment plant," said Jennifer Roth, city arborist.

You have until mid-February to drop off your tree.

They also won't take wreaths or garland.
