BELGRADE -

The man accused of shoving a teenage girl in a trunk Thursday night is facing felony charges of kidnapping and criminal endangerment.

Police say it all started with a fight between boyfriend and girlfriend.

Cameron James Alverson, 18, of Belgrade is behind bars on $10,000 bond after police say he kidnapped his dad's girlfriend's teenage daughter.

Court documents say around 11 Thursday night, Belgrade police were called to a domestic disturbance between the victim and her boyfriend.

Police say the girl had been drinking and started arguing with her boyfriend about who was cheating on whom.

This happened in the back seat of Alverson's car while Alverson was driving.

Documents say the girl jumped from the car near the intersection of Main and Jackrabbit Lane in Belgrade, the jump caused injuries to the right side of her torso.

Alverson told police he was going about 25 mph when the girl jumped.

Police say the girl got back into the vehicle and instead of seeking medical treatment for the girl, Alverson drove the two teens about seven miles north of Belgrade on Dry Creek Road.

According to charging documents, Alverson stopped near Weaver Road and the girl got out to vomit and ran into the ditch.

Police say Alverson continued to mile marker seven where after getting the victim back in his car, and the girl tried to flee again.

That's when Alverson put the girl in the trunk and drove off.

Documents say the girl was able to get out of the trunk by folding down the back seat, and Alverson then took her home.

Belgrade police also arrested the victim's boyfriend on charges of kidnapping and criminal endangerment.

Police say they are also looking for a witness who saw the victim jump out of the car.

If you know anything about the case, you are asked to call Belgrade police at 406-388-4262.
