Pedestrian Killed In Stevensville Crash

MISSOULA -

A 24-year-old Darby man dies after being hit by a car Monday on Highway 269.

Montana Highway Patrol troopers say the young man was walking west on the bike lane on Highway 269 when for unknown reasons he jumped in front of a westbound Ford Explorer.

The 68-year-old Stevensville man driving the Explorer was unable to avoid the man and hit him.

Emergency services transported the young man to St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula where he died of his injuries.

The name of the victim and whether any charges will be filed is not yet released.
