Man Charged After Kicking MHP Officer

BOZEMAN -

A 37-year-old Harrison man faces a felony charge of assault on a peace officer.

Court documents say the Montana Highway Patrol trooper was trying to arrest Kyle Paul Rosencrans for driving under the influence late Tuesday night.

The trooper pulled Rosencrans over for speeding and asked him to get out of his truck after the trooper smelled alcohol.

Documents say Rosencrans pulled away and kicked the officer in the groin as he was being arrested.

Rosencrans is also charged with a DUI, speeding and resisting arrest.
