Man Sentenced to 70 Years In Prison For Shooting Store Clerk

A man who shot a convenience store clerk in an attempted robbery last year was sentenced to 100 years in prison, with 30 suspended, on Thursday in Missoula District Court.

Christopher Burch is charged with felony charges of attempted deliberate homicide and robbery. Burch shot 22 -year-old Adam Gallegos, the clerk at Ole's in East Missoula in September 2012. Gallegos said he's still unable to return to work after losing a lung and suffering other major injuries.

Burch was immediately taken to Montana State Prison after the sentencing.
