UM Offers Lifelong Learning Courses

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA -

Community members ages 50 and older can now register for winter courses through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Montana.

The Institute offers courses on symphony, World War II and the Pacific, Cuban art and culture, and the effect of disease on the body.

The courses are taught by UM faculty and Missoula professionals.

Organizers said attending classes helps keep people active in their community.

Ann Boone, of the Lifelong Learning Institute, said, "The importance of them are mainly to keep your mind interested in things, and to learn new things, to have the challenge of that."

Courses run January 23 through February 28.
