FAA Investigates Plane Crash

Two people are recovering at Kalispell Regional Medical Center after a private plane veered off the runway at Glacier Park International Airport the morning of December 9.

The in-bound plane was carrying five people around 9 a.m when it came in for a hard landing.

The other three passengers were not hurt.

The plane was a twin-engine Beech Baron and the crash temporarily shut down the airport and the runway. Both are now back up and running.

Airport director, Cindi Martin, says this did not delay any commercial flights.

"Any incident is reported to the National Transportation Safety Board and either they themselves investigate it or they hand it off to the FAA. In this case it's been handed off to the FAA," explained Martin.

The Federal Aviation Administration is on the ground now looking into the cause of the crash.

No word yet on where the flight was coming from.
