Jingle Bell Run 2013 Faces Cold Weather

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA -

Almost 300 people are getting ready to run in what is expected to be far below freezing temperatures. The 2013 Jingle Bell Run/Walk for arthritis is taking place this weekend.

The 5K run and walk is put on by the Arthritis Foundation to raise money in the fight against the disease. Event planners say the cold weather isn't stopping anyone from taking part in the 5K walk or run, with up to 300 people expected to register by the end of the week.

"Missoula runners are resilient," said Carrie Jacobs of the Arthritis Foundation. "They'll come out in any weather, so we really strongly suggest dressing in layers, anything that wicks away the sweat."

The run kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Caras Park. Emcees include ABC FOX Montana's very own Angela Marshall and Dave Cochran. For information on how you can register, head to the jingle bell run/walk website.
