MT Board Of Regents Approve New MSU Dorms

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

The Montana Board of Regents unanimously voted to fund a new dormitory and dining halls at Montana State University.

MSU has seen a 24% enrollment growth in the past five years and 36% increase of students choosing to live on campus.

The $60-million bond will be used to build a four-hundred bed residence hall, upgrade dining halls and help fund the construction of Jabs Hall.

"The whole MSU administration is just so excited and so grateful for the regents support," said Tracy Ellig, MSU spokesman. "This is going to be a great thing for our students because when students live on campus, they do better in school and they are more likely to graduate."

Right now, the university is using the graduate family-student housing to house freshmen.
