Griz Players Offer Advice to Former Teams in AA Title Game.

Posted: Updated:

The state AA football title game is Friday with the Glacier Wolfpack looking to avenge their early season loss to the Bozeman Hawks.

It's already been an historic season for the Pack, as they've reached their first state title game since the school opened, and one former Glacier quarterback, whose also playing in Bozeman this weekend offered his advice to his former team.

"I'd say just for them, go out and do what they've been doing. They obviously lost to Bozeman earlier this year, but you only have to win this game, so that's all I'd tell them," says Griz junior QB Shay Smithwick-Hann.

While Smithwick-Hann will be rooting for the underdogs, Brock Coyle will be rooting for his former team in Bozeman. The Hawks have won every game they've played, most of them by a substantial amount, and while Bozeman has been a force on the grid-iron for several seasons now, it hasn't always been that way says Coyle, "Coach Purcell texted me today saying good luck to me and Ben Weyer, and we're just proud that he's grown that program down there, and those kids have embraced everything.  When I was there as a senior we won 3 games, and they've grown that program, but they have a great squad, and coach Purcell has a great coaching staff down there, so just wishing them the best, and play their hearts out."
