LIBBY -

The 60-year-old Colorado man shot in a hunting accident Saturday is now in stable condition at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, according to Lincoln County Undersheriff, Brent Faulkner.

Authorities say the man was shot by another hunter in the leg near the Libby Creek area.

The 48-year-old alleged shooter from Libby made the 911 call, applied first aid, and drove the man to meet up with an ambulance around Whiskey Hill, south of Libby.

Currently, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, Montana FWP, and the US Forest Service are investigating. Faulkner says the names of the men will be released once the investigation is finished.
