Ride-A-Thon Fundraiser Raises Money For Carousel

The participants of Missoula's first-ever carousel Ride-A-Thon may have felt a little dizzy Wednesday.

30 riders took part in the fundraiser to support the carousel and Dragon Hollow Play area. Each participant had to ride the carousel until they raised $200 in pledges.

Organizers said the carousel is a big part of the Missoula Community.

"We do events like the Fairytale Festival. We had 500 kids come to the Fairytale Festival this year, and it was completely free to all those kids. We just serve the community in so many ways, and we just ask for the community's financial support to help with that," said Teresa Cox, the executive director Carousel for Missoula.

75% of the carousel's budget is supported through operations, but organizers said fundraising helps the prices stay lower and more accessible.
