Bozeman Police Investigate Alleged Rape Case

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

The Bozeman Police Department has responded to 35 calls of alleged sexual intercourse without consent since January.

Detective Steve Crawford said the majority of those reports were from people who said they knew the suspect.

Early Sunday morning, Bozeman police responded to a call of a 21-year-old female who was allegedly raped by a 20-year-old male.

The incident happened at the University Village apartments on 11th. Police have not said if the victim or suspect are MSU students.

The department is currently investigating the incident and the suspect is cooperating. Crawford said sexual intercourse without consent reports are challenging cases.

"As an agency and a profession we take a victim center approach of trying to investigate in a matter that is sensitive to the stability and the well being of the victim," said Crawford.

No charges are yet filed.
