MSU Rape Victim Not Pressing Charges

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

Montana State University officials say the victim who reported being forced to have sex in a dorm room last week does not want an investigation to take place.

MSU police responded to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital last week after a patient reported being raped at North Hedges Residence Hall.

The victim said she was spending time in a room with a male who she knew when he forced her to have sex with him.

After speaking with MSU police, the female victim decided she did not want police to further investigate the incident. This means no charges will be filed against the male.

In early October, police investigated two alleged sexual assaults at MSU Fraternity houses. Those cases have been turned over to the Gallatin County Attorneys Office. That office has not yet decided if it will file criminal charges.
