Belgrade Football Ready for Playoffs

Posted: Updated:
Belgrade's playoff game Saturday versus Whitefish will be a rematch with the Bulldogs, and panther players learned one key thing from the game earlier in the season.

"It's always important in a playoff game I mean turnovers killed us last versus Whitefish it almost cost us the game. So we really want to limit those  and force turnovers on the other side of the ball. There's nothing more fun than when you force a turnover or pick up a fumble," said senior linebacker Wyatt Evans.

"Going on in the playoffs the farther you get in you have to execute perfectly you can't be making turnovers no stupid fouls that will be the difference maker in a lot of these games," said senior guard Trevor Campbell.

There's no double elimination in the playoffs. Belgrade knows that, and you can see it in their preparation.

"It's one and done I think the kids know that you can see it at practice the kids are up beat we are ready to roll this crew is ready to get it done they are on the path to win a state championship their motivation and enthusiasm of the game," said head coach Eric Kinnaman.

"Your last game is playoff time it kind of scares you a little bit and you play a little harder I think. Or I hope so," said Evans.

The panthers have a five game winning streak heading into Saturday's game, which helps.

"Our momentum is on our side right now we won conference we haven't done that in ten years so that was a huge confidence for us we were able to rest and rebuild and going into this game the kids are excited so the momentum is on our side," said Kinnaman.
