MISSOULA -

The Department of U.S. Health and Human Services awards $150 million to support 236 new health center sites across the country, including Partnership Health Center in Missoula.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said on Thursday that these investments will help care for approximately 1.25 million additional patients nationwide.

"Health centers are key partners in the improving access to quality, affordable health care services for those who need it most," Sebelius said. "With new, affordable health insurance options available under the Affordable Care Act, community health centers are also key partners in helping uninsured residents sign up for health coverage - many of whom have been locked out of the health insurance market for years."

Partnership Health Center will receive $925,757. That funding is expected to serve an additional 1,650 patients.
