Last night, Kalispell voted to repeal the city council's decision and halt the expansion of the Kalispell Municipal airport. The vote was 1,886 to 1,535.
Kalispell City Council passed the resolution to move ahead with a master plan from Stelling Engineers back in July of 2012, but a citizen petition put the issue on the November 5 ballot.
The repeal of resolution 5572 means the upgrade estimated to cost around $16 million is a no go.
We'll have reaction from city officials and residents tonight on the ABC MONTANA NEWS at 5:30.
