MSU Program Receives Grant For Nutrition Education

BOZEMAN -

A Montana State University program that provides nutritional education and training in schools receives a nearly $300,000 grant.

The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to help the program build school wellness resources and policy programs.

Program heads said the USDA grant will be used to increase training for school food service staff, conduct nutrition education workshops and enhance school meal marketing efforts.

The grant will also increase support for the farm to school program which supplies students with  fresh and seasonal foods from local producers.
