Frontier Airlines Flights Postponed in Missoula

MISSOULA -

Officials at Missoula Economic Partnership said plans to bring Frontier Airlines to Missoula won't happen in 2014.

MEP officials said Frontier was recently purchased, and their new business model may have played a factor in the airline's decision.

Missoula International Airport officials have been in contact with Frontier and other carriers with low-cost flights for several years.

Officials said they're meeting with Frontier and other carriers next week, and remain confident they'll secure a low-cost airline.

Cris Jensen, Director of the Missoula International Airport, said, "You know, we certainly want the community to know that that effort never stops, and you know, we're as motivated today as we've ever been to get them into our market."

Airport officials said other airlines have been hugely successful in Missoula.

They said Delta is doubling the number of flights to Atlanta next summer, and increasing service to Minneapolis.

Delta will also offer daily, non-stop service to Los Angeles over the upcoming holiday season.
