Sexual Intercourse Without Consent Incident Reported At MSU

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

Montana State University Police responded to seven sexual intercourse without consent cases since January.

On Monday, the MSU Police responded to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital for a late report of sexual intercourse without consent at the North Hedges Residence Hall.

The victim said she was spending time in a room with a male she knew when he sexually assaulted her.

MSU Police would like to remind all staff, students and campus visitors to always know your surroundings.

"People should know who they are alone with," said Robert Putzke, MSU Police Chief. "Also, don't accept already opened bottles of alcohol or alcohol beverage drinks from people you don't know."

Two incidents of sexual assaults were reported last month at two MSU Fraternity houses. Those cases have been turned over to the county attorney to see if further criminal charges will be pressed.
