Students Say Thanks At FVCC

KALISPELL -

Tuesday, October 29, Flathead Valley Community College scholarship recipients are saying thank you to donors.

FVCC president, Jane Karas, and students spoke to donors over lunch, a tradition in its twentieth year, in the Arts and Technology building.

One of the student speakers, Sam Roslie, is in the first year of a medical assistance program on a full ride.

As a single mother of two, Roslie is unsure how she would have paid for her education without the scholarship.

"'I received a scholarship?'" Roslie recalled saying upon hearing the good news, "I remember crying tears of joy and it was just a mix of superlatives and disbelief."

The almost half a million dollars given by private donors this year to FVCC enables 266 students to attend classes.
