In his first career start, Dawson Reardon threw a touchdown and ran for two. Not bad at all. His time leading up to the game made his play successful.
"Just preparation I mean the weeks practicing coach's gave me a lot of reps so that helped me out a lot," said Reardon.
"He's a cool customer there's no doubt a bout that I was joking with him before the game is he going to be nervous. Pretty non coolant about the whole deal which from a coaching stand point you're pretty excited about that knowing he's not going to get rattled and he's just going to go out there and play his game," said head coach Chuck Morrell.
Now you've probly heard the term "game manager" for a quarterback. Reardon is anything but.
"We have to have him make plays and I think you saw that this past Saturday where he runs for two touchdowns and throws for another touchdown that's not really game management that's going out there and making plays," said Morrell.
The Helena native also has his teammate's support.
"Think you saw some guys make some plays for him James Roberts had several big catches. They're excited that he's getting the ball out to him. It's great to see and they've really rallied around him," said Morrell.
Coach Morrell has a clear goal for Reardon's future.
"Want him to direct traffic I think that's the biggest thing over he matures over the next few years can he put them in the right position can he check a call when we need him to check to have us get in the right look. I think that's the process we need him to proceed with right now he's doing an excellent job at what we throw at him."
