BUTTE -

Butte-Silver Bow County Law Enforcement is warning residents to be on the lookout for bears this time of year.

Tuesday night, at the intersection of Burlington and Springfield roads in Butte, a bear was spotted hanging out in a tree.

Fish, Wildlife, and Parks was called to the scene around 9:30 p.m.

The bear was still in the tree at 11 p.m., but left early this morning.

F.W.P. says bears come into town typically looking for food.

If you spot a bear, you are encouraged to call law enforcement or F.W.P.
