Butte Urban Renewal Agency Hosts Final Meeting for New District

Posted: Updated:
BUTTE -

The Butte-Silver Bow County Urban Revitalization Agency hosted the third and final meeting Tuesday afternoon, to revitalize a new district in Uptown Butte.

The first two meetings discussed the new parking facility location and residential development in the proposed district.

As a result of the meetings, the Urban Renewal Agency will construct a plan for the district with the goal of economically growing the uptown area.

"The turn out for those meetings has been wonderful," said Janet Cornish with the Urban Renewal Agency. "Seeing that many people that are interested in the community, in particular this district, means we have a clear direction in the kinds of things we would like to see in the community."

Once the Urban Revitalization Agency constructs a plan, it must be approved by the county planning board and the Council of Commissioners.

Over the next few years, the ideas and concepts of the plan will be put into action.
