KALISPELL -

The Flathead City-County Health department hosted a community clinic to administer flu shots.

Health department staff and volunteers began giving vaccines at 8:00 a.m. October 22, and continued until 6:00 p.m.

The immunization costs twenty-five dollars and the clinic required no pre-registration.

Flathead health officer, Joe Russell, estimates more than a hundred people participated, allowing the health department some practice in epidemic prevention.

"That's part of the testing of our system. We want people to come in maybe with no information, some information," said Russell.

The Center for Disease Control recommends everyone six months and older get vaccinated against Influenza.
