Kalispell Fatal Crash Update

The driver of Thursday's double fatal car accident south of Kalispell is now charged for the deaths of two men.

Forty-six-year-old Joseph Powell made an initial appearance in justice court in Kalispell Monday, October 21.

He is charged by the Flathead County Attorney's Office with two counts of negligent vehicular homicide while under the influence.

Montana highway patrol troopers say Powell was driving in the northbound lane when he crossed over into the southbound lane, leading to the death of his passenger, 43-year-old Patrick Moulton at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Powell crashed into a pick-up truck driven by 43-year-old Brian Delaney from Kalispell who died on impact.

Powell suffered a dislocated hip and a broken arm.
