KALISPELL -

A 46-year-old Kalispell man involved in a double-fatal car accident last night, October 18, is taken into custody by the Flathead county sheriff's department.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper, Ed Sievers says alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.

He says a northbound Jeep Cherokee crossed in the southbound lane of Highway 93 near Kalispell and struck a pickup truck head on.

The driver of the truck, 43-year-old Brian Delaney of Kalispell, and the 43-year-old passenger of the Jeep were both killed.

The other victim's name has not yet been released.

The Montana Department of Transportation closed the highway for about two hours this afternoon so authorities could continue their investigation.
