Flathead Students Looking To Lend A Hand

KALISPELL -

Thirty Flathead High School students are hoping to help out some local businesses for a grade.

In its third year, the International Baccalaureate Business and Management class will partner with local entrepreneurs to troubleshoot issues using techniques learned in class.

The project will last until mid-February.

At the end of the year, students can take a standardized test to receive college credit for their work.

"It's a really cool community collaboration: students work with the business owner and get that first-hand professional skills, some of that soft skill development, and then the business owners get to look back and see what our students are doing in class," said the course instructor, Jesse Rumsey.

If you own a business in the Valley and want to get involved, you can email Rumsey at rumseyj@sd5k12.mt.us or call her at 406.212.7358.
