Juan Jose Romero, a man charged with deliberate homicide by accountability, pleaded not guilty in Butte-Silver Bow County District Court Thursday.

The 28-year-old Romero is charged with playing a role in the murder of Mark Partelow, and tampering with evidence.

Charging documents say Romero was present at the murder in August, when Jeffrey Lackman allegedly shot and killed Partelow.

Lackman and Romero were found days later when they were arrested near Roundup.

Romero is being held on $250,000 bond.
