The Northwest Montana United Way has just three months to meet their fundraising goal of $600,000.
The annual drive began October 1, and already the United Way has raised about $16,000.
Nineteen member agencies, including the Flathead Food Bank and the local Girl Scouts chapter, will benefit from this money.
Until the end of the campaign on December 31, the United Way will collect donations largely through workplace giving drives and gifts from individuals.
"Despite the economy being a little bit better, the unmet needs in our community have grown dramatically over the last several years," said Sherry Stevens, the executive director of the United Way in Kalispell.
