Posted: Updated:

The Northern Arizona University Lumberjack's played their best game of the season Saturday night against the unbeaten University of Montana Grizzlies winning 34-16.

NAU's Zach Bauman scored their first two TD's early in the 1st quarter giving NAU a strong 14-0 lead. Montana's defense kept Arizona from scoring for most of the second quarter, however the Griz had some missed opportunities. A fumble by Jordan Johnson on the 2 yard line at 4th and goal was picked up by NAU's Ryan Reardon and ran for a 98 yard TD giving Arizona a 21-3 lead to end the half.

The 3rd quarter started with another Griz fumble and return by Northern Arizona to score. The Griz put up their first TD early in the 4th, and a second at the end of the quarter but the margin was too wide to come back from. The Lumberjacks's won 34-16.

UM had a total of 292 passing and only 55 rushing yards while NAU had 267 passing and 149 rushing. Jordan Johnson had a tough time connecting with 17 of 38 for 292 yards. UM is now 3-1 for the season.
