Cats Regrouping

Hall of Fame football coach Bill Parcells has a saying, "you are what your record is." Right now the Cats are 2-2, not where they wanted to be. But losses can teach you a lot. And that's the mindset this week.

"Loses are great teachers, you know we'd like to be 4-0 right now but sometimes 2-2 is a good thing and it shapes us as a team and it's a test everybody likes football because it shapes your character," said running back Cody Kirk.

"Anytime you come off a loss you appreciate the season more anytime you lose a game there's that much like a sense of urgency to correct your mistakes and it's also very humbling," said linebacker Cole Moore.

Head Coach Rob Ash would much rather have W's than L's, but the losses put things in perspective.

"I'd much rather learn from a hard fought win that a loss. But anytime you have high expectations from a group of guys and a season and a setback like this it gives off a sense of urgency," said Ash.

"We're going to get better every week this points out areas where we need to work on I think the best part is we're going to move forward and not dwell on last week," said wide receiver coach Brian Von Bergen.

With Big Sky Conference play this week, Cody Kirk knows what's at stake.

"Everybody's good everyone can beat you shout we're 2-2 we got to get wins if we want to get to the playoffs but it's one week at a time and UND is our focus this week," said Kirk.
