The Bobcats are now 2-2 for the season after this weekends 52-38 loss to Stephen F. Austin.
SFA started strong in the first quarter getting two TD's and a FG to lead MSU 17-9. Brady Attaway was getting the job done for SFA while Bleskin struggled, eventually completing a 42 yard throw to Ellis for the Bobcats first TD. The Bobcats did better in the second, matching SFA touchdown for touchdown and ending the half trailing 24 – 31.
MSU tried turning things around in the third. The Bobcat defense put the pressure on SFA keeping Attaway from completing like he did in the first half. The Bobcats got across the end zone with 4:49 left in the third to close the gap to 1 point, 30-31.
As the fourth began it looked like MSU had a fighting chance. A 29 yard pass from Jake to Tanner Bleskin got the ball down the field and Cody Kirk rushed for the TD, giving MSU their first lead of the night, 38-31. It was short lived as SFA scored on their next two drives. A pass interception on Bleskin finished the night off giving SFA the 52-38 win.
Interceptions hurt MSU with 4 total. Bleskin threw for 308 yards and the Bobcats had 107 rushing. SAF threw for 392 yards and rushed for 175.
